The Agency
Agency by Katie-Jane was launched in May 2021. We noticed a lack of agencies that specialise in their Maternity Professionals falling into the criteria we have set for our Agency. We have a rigorous registration process and we hand pick our team members, not every applicant is accepted. All our Maternity Professionals are very experienced and have many years of working in their chosen professional field, along with impeccable references to support their work over the years.
This is where Agency by Katie-Jane is different as our Maternity Professionals have a minimum 5 years of experience. Although we all have to start somewhere when beginning on our professional journey there are already plenty of agencies who take on newly qualified professionals (placed to gain their experience) or who have just a couple of years experience.
We feel it is important for us to focus on filling a gap in the postnatal industry to ensure we provide Maternity Professionals who are highly experienced and established. Our Maternity Professionals are all self-employed and their rates reflect their experience, qualifications and knowledge.

About Katie-Jane
From an early age I knew that I always wanted to work with children.
Having attended the London Montessori Teacher Training College I completed and attained my Montessori combined NNEB foundation Diploma. I then pursued and established my career as a Maternity Nurse. Being a part of those early days in a newborns life really is quite special.
I spent several years travelling and working as a Maternity Nurse in the UK and Internationally (USA, Spain and Switzerland) meeting and working for some wonderful families along the way. Parallel to this I went on to complete a Montessori Teaching Diploma (key stage 1) at The Newborough School, Montessori Teacher Training College, Liverpool (combined correspondence study and weekend college study).
In 1999 I came back to the UK and started a Montessori teaching position at a private school in Woolton, Liverpool. I also continued to work as a Maternity Nurse on weekends and school holidays. In September 2000 I had my first child. Becoming a Mum made me realise how passionate I was about working with babies so I left my teaching position and put my heart and soul into developing my name and reputation within my professional field as a Maternity Nurse.
For the past 27 years I have worked with many hundreds of babies from newborn through to 6 years old. I have fulfilled bookings working for clients, including many High Profile families, building an outstanding reputation for my professional working approach and building up extensive, mutually respected client relationships along the way. Many of these clients I am still in contact with to this day and some have developed into lovely friendships. All have left me with such wonderful memories.
I continue to educate, guide and empower parents on a daily and weekly basis offering many postnatal services under my established name. I have evolved over the latter years to be focusing on my Paediatric Sleep Consultancy Service. I am constantly being contacted by prospective clients requesting maternity support. That is what lead me to set up Agency by Katie-Jane. I am excited about the journey I am taking, the team of exceptional Maternity Professionals I have on our books and the top end service that we can provide.
I have certainly found my vocation in life and I am proud of the awards and achievements I have earnt on my professional journey so far.
